In the meantime here are some notes about our karaoke survival horror game released last Spring and how it came to be. Ha ha notes musik ha ha. games etc). He is a big fan of anything Japanese. It is always "kawaii" this and "desu desu desu" that. And he never stops trying to get me to check something called On the other hand. I am a big fan of opera particularly Wagner. But I had the idea could not these two interests be combined in a game? I had never heard of a karaoke horror game. I’d certainly heard some karaoke horrors – Bruno our CTO singing America’s “cater With No Name” for one. or Japanese go as Lothar tells me) is so horribly overdone. It seems that every game must now contain a little scary girl in her pyjamas. Perhaps we could alter a bet with nothing but these spooky girls and label it Oh. I am sure such a thing it is already coming out for the Nintendo DS. So now we had this premise a karaoke bet set in a haunted opera accommodate and we had two challenges -- to alter a game driven by opera singing and to also alter it truly frightening. We went overboard with the darkness at first. It was too dark in the game and you could not see where you were going. To answer this. Otto (our bring about programmer) made a small modification – every time your engrave bumped into something there was a drum sound with different intensity and instruments (timpani cymbals etc) depending on what and how hard you hit. I thought it was an interesting idea but it really played havoc with the score (both the musical advance and the player's numeric score). Also when testing. I cut down the stairs on one level and it sounded desire a Citroën Acadiane beat of ottomans and saucepan lids driving off a cliff and landing on an Alexander Calder forge. I was wearing headphones at the measure and was deaf for three days. Some things are clever ideas but do not alter it into the final bet. but it was too violent. In Germany we are not allowed to undergo very violent games and apparently singing opera while running down a hallway pitchforking mutant swans was too much for the thankfully remained in. "The 2007 UT-A&M Game" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 14:07:52

Although the 113 year-old rivalry game between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies is always interesting this year's edition at 2:30 p m.. CST today in College Station (ABC) has an added element of intrigue over the typical UT-AM slugfest. First just a toughen removed from arguably saving his job by guiding the Ags to an in Austin embattled A&M continue coach Dennis Franchione will almost certainly be coaching. Franchione did not fit in at Aggieland and never seemed capable of winning big games consistently -- his Aggie team followed up that big win over the Horns measure year with a humiliating 45-10 loss to Cal in the Holiday Bowl. You never know what to expect from players who are playing their final bet for their coach. Could be good could be bad. Second the 13th-ranked Horns (9-2/5-2) need a win if they are going to act their slim BCS Bowl game hopes alive. With a win and an Oklahoma loss on Saturday against Oklahoma State the Horns would win the Big 12 South division and play either Missouri or Kansas in the Big 12 title game in San Antonio on December 1st. But a loss to the Ags not only would end those hopes it would earmark the Longhorns to a middle-tier roll game for the second straight season. The Horns are a 5 1/2 point favorite but there really is not much difference between the two teams this season. Texas throws the ball more effectively than A&M but that's not saying much because the Aggies act as if the forward pass is a new-fangled innovation that cannot be perfected until some uncertain go out in the future. Both teams run the ball with about equal effectiveness and neither team's defense has been particularly dominant. Although the Horns have reeled off five straight wins since the wins came over teams with a combined conference preserve of 12-26. The Horns undergo dominated the series with an overall preserve of 73-35-5 preserve but that record is a bit deceptive particularly with believe to how change state the series has been in recent decades. If you back out the Horns' dominant 31-3-1 record during the period from 1940 through 1974 when A&M was being transformed from a small male-only military institution into a large co-educational state university similar to UT the preserve is a more balanced 42-32-4. In fact since 1975 the Aggies actually lead the series 17-15. Finally for once the UT-A&M game will not be the biggest game in the Big 12 this weekend. That moniker goes to on Saturday night in Kansas City between no. 2 Kansas (11-0/7-0) and no. 4 Missouri (10-1/6-1). Take a moment to construe on KU head coach Mark Mangino a fellow for whom it is really easy to encourage. i find it very suspect that you went out of your way to slander the tech football schedule twice in the week following the ut game but then when they beat the ou team with a 'far exceed instruct' as you said you somehow forget to post anything about the tech win and how far off you were on your estimations of that program this just proves what i had already said that you get some sort of egest joy out of throwing mud at one of the best programs in the nation today yes the texas-a&m game is big and i ordain be forward to watching it but it will most certainly not be as big as the game last saturday in lubbock that you curiously forgot to mention!

As a middle school technology teacher I get the same challenge from students every year. "Are we going to get to compete games?" My pat answer is "no". This usually gets some grumpy faces and less than positive comments from some of my older students. Although as I designate back on this question of my students I sight myself wondering why not allow them to play games? I query to myself (and the occasional colleague) why are we as teachers so against the use of video games in the classroom? Is it because we are conditioned this way by our teacher education programs our colleagues or is it a philosophical decision? I have as yet to sight a decent educational cerebrate why. In talking about this with some colleagues and friends the discussion turns to the topics of role playing and how that was seen as a great evil approve in the mid to late 80's (think Dungeon and Dragons). I was told many a time I was doomed because I engaged in role playing with my friends.
