"Shall We Play A Game?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-20 06:09:55 |
Freeware useful Web sites original PC tips & tricks critical updates jargon definitions and general help for consumers. Tech support with a personal touch!
The guys who hang out with me on Ventrilo recently got hooked on a PC game called DEFCON. After they explained it all to me. I had to try it for myself. The demo is fully-functioning and free! It has excellent graphics and a stellar soundtrack that you can now buy on iTunes is definitely addictive and a lot of fun.
Wirelesspacket explained the premise of the game. Remember the movie with Matthew Broderick? In the movie the character Joshua showed the continents and the missiles being launched. This game is almost the same exact interface. Not only are there nuclear weapons there are fighter planes radar and you have to build your own air bases and defenses. You must defend your homeland while trying to destroy the other areas.
According to the game manufacturer:
It’s Global Thermonuclear War and nobody wins. But maybe — just maybe — you can lose the least.
This game is becoming so popular you can or even use the screensaver!
Watch as Wirelesspacket plays the demo of this game for you… live!
Let me know what other games you know of that are just excellent and may be under the radar. We hear so often about the expensive games that really cool ones like this tend to go unnoticed.
