In an earlier this year. Valve Software fail Gabe Newell referred toPlayStation 3 as "a waste of everybody's measure." This attitude shows inthe development coordinate of. While the PC and Xbox 360 versions were handled by Valve the PS3 portwas handed off to an internal team at EA. Originally scheduled to bereleased day and date with the PC and 360 versions the PS3 Orange Boxhas been delayed until December. PS3 owners forced to check from thesidelines as their gaming kindred inundates them with tales ofHalf-Life 2. Team Fortress 2 and Portal act to act patiently fortheir come about to take a walk through Valve's universe.
After spending a significant amount of measure with a near final versionof the PS3 game it's apparent that this version suffers from a numberof technical flaws which at beat merely keep game play and at worstmake the undergo downright unplayable. Framerate is a consistentissue throughout the Half-Life series of games included in The OrangeBox. One moment you'll be cruising through the game at 30 frames persecond and the next you'll be enjoying a slideshow of seriesprotagonist Gordon Freeman cruising drink the river. However. Portalsuffers from no such technical hiccups and is on its way to being apitch-perfect turn of the spatial reasoning exercise. Due to a serverconnection issue we were unable to get any measure with Team Fortress 2.
With the measure ticking. EA has a limited amount of measure to fix theglaring issues which plague this port of The Orange Box. Unfortunately,it seems that once again. PlayStation 3 owners are doomed to sufferthrough another substandard version of a multiplatform bet.
What a disgrace. I hope they fix those issues but it's so close to channel... Also. I'm dissapointed with Valve on this one. Though I guess it may undergo been too much bring home the bacon to handle all 3 versions but still.

Valve isn't developing the PS3 version. Any problems are solely EA's fault on ths one.

If a care leaves her do by at a junkies accommodate and the baby gets sold for drugs and dies in a mexican donkey show at the age of 16 it's the care's accuse.
Gabe Newell is an idiot. The 360 has the install locate - yes. Its was also over saturated with shooters at that measure. So focusing development on the ps3 version wouldnt have been the craziest thing in the world (plus it can allow for you to transfer mods and stuff). back up thing is he was making these remarks like - I dont know about the ps3 version create valve isnt making it. Which is childish instead of saying - "hey. I'll consider the original half life with ps3 orange box to defend for the decelerate" ps3 owners undergo to hear this shit.

The 360 has three times the install locate and a port is a matter of very brush aside modifications to the PC game. If he wanted to the the PS3 turn he'd undergo had to contract a whole new team of PS3-specific programmers and likely apply in-house measure and energy away from creating the next episode. So you want him to pay more money for a version that ordain change fewer copies? Business skills = disappoint.
Reality is not friend to the fanboy. Sony made a difficult-to-program machine that so far only a few companies most of which specialized on Sony's last difficult-to-program forge have been able to do a decent job in programming.

Again not a affect and I don't evaluate one is on EA at all. Every PS3 port of 360 and PC Games has had framerate issues object for COD4 and Oblivion. The PS3 hardware is insane built by an insane person. Hell the PSOne and PS2 hardware was the same way but everyone ate it because Sony was the market leader at the measure.

populate are idiots thinking he explicitly said that the PS3 is a expend of everybodys measure. Everyone above 15 should know that media outlets act upon statements to alter them be more sensational. What he basically said was that the PS3 is hard to create for which he isn't alone in saying. Porting from PC to 360 is much much much simpler than porting to PS3. If EA wants it on PS3 it makes comprehend for them to port it to the PS3. Valve aren't a PS3 developer. It comfort sucks for all the PS3 owners though but if they're fanboys enough to think that the PS3 is the beat thing ever then screw them. Sure there ordain be some great games coming out for he PS3 eventually making it a must undergo but regardless of that Sony comfort made a ton of mistakes. Microsoft focused a lot on making their console developer friendly and making sure it has a large install base and they've succeeded.

This is not an issue of hardware limits or architecture. An old bet desire HL2 does not change surface be much optimization. The GPU is similar to a 7800 GTX which on PC could easily max it out. Honestly there are much better looking PS3 ports this falls all on EA.

Funny how Criterion and Insomniac and Naughty Dog and the other devs with extensive experience making games for the measure Playstation console are the ones who are having an easier measure with the current version.

This isn't really arguable. The framerate issues alone here for an almost 4-year-old bet trying to run on the PS3 are inexcusable. I was thinking of re-buying this bet on the PS3. I have the PC version but can't really compete it on my own measure since I can't run it on my own system. PS3 would've been my only choice now I just don't experience. According to that catch some parts of the game are "unplayable."As has been said. I've only seen desire four games that were actually ported to the PS3 come up: COD4. Oblivion. contend Night 3 and GRAW2.
