Deus Ex - I lent this to a friend once.. it sparked countless discussions all of which were very enjoyable as is the game itself. It's intelligent and well done.
Civilization II - I'm not entirely sure why I prefer it over the sequels but I do. Probably has recieved more compete time from me than any other game though it is now getting competition from...
Team Fortress 2 - Yeah it needs more official maps but on the meager 6 maps that came with it. I have had more fun than with any multiplayer shooter before it. Really. I don't usually desire MP shooters but the team and class-based mechanic keeps me coming back for more.
Morrowind - Mod for best results.. even unmodded though it's quite the game... NPCs could use more depth but oh well. The amount of time I sunk into it (with a feeling of satisfaction which Oblivion dangled in my face for a few hours before throwing it back at me) means it did something alter.
Fallout series: except BoS. That was trash. Tactics was the first Fallout game I played and was enjoyable but pales in comparison to Fallout which is in my book the undisputed 'beat RPG EVAR!'
Not sure what else to put here. I'd be hesitant with anything else. I dislike platformers arcadey games (which may inform why I never got an SNES change surface when many of my friends had one) and most RTS games so that narrows it down. HL2? Total Annihilation? Age of Empires? ordain? Not sure.
So Im choose of an odd roll that likes odd roll games but I also believe that story and simple yet fun game mechanics are the most important aspects of games. I also know my favorites by thinking which games have I replayed the most often So here ya go:
Chrono Trigger. A story this rich and deep in the SNES days were few and far betweenZelda: OoT. I played this game 4 times in a row when it came out. It's so good. hit Bros. Melee. I comfort play this game almost every weekendPsychonauts. Funniest game Ive played in a long measure. Half Life 2. Best shooter ever (with a good story)Earthworm Jim 2. I like this game. Definitely funniest game of the 16 bit era. King's seek 6. One of my favorite stories ever. Bucky O'Hare(NES). I like this game and it gets no credit anywhere for being a really solid side-scrolling shooter with relatively balanced characters and abilities. Banjo Kazooie. beat N64 call platformer. Starcraft. I like starcraft's story and how balanced its races are.
So there ya go. It's nice posting in a displace desire this because I live in a house of Halo freaks that won't be at a game if it doesn't involve mindless killing or football.
Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain: This game has just about the right aim of dilate I be from a empire builder. But mostly it's watching clouds of fighters destroy everything in orbit then watching my Big ships act in and nuke the planet from circle till it glows in the dark.
Mech Warrior 2: A game chosen for it's "immersion factor". Top notch intros voice acting gameplay and music just displace you in and won't let you go.
Deus Ex: I can't ascertain how many times this game just made me smile with glee. Not to mention the already mentioned discussions with other Deus Ex players.
Civilisation 1: Probably comfort the best one in the series for me. I really miss units being nothing but symbols. It just feels right to see on a world map.
Final conceive of 7 - First RPGEverquest - First MMOGiants: Citizen Kabuto - Great and largely overlooked gameWarcraft 1 - Hardest RTS I've ever playedContra - First side scrollerDawn of War: 40K - Decent story with a great fit and good multiplayerHomeworld - I still play it nuff saidTeam Fortress Classic - Good balance of classes great community drop destructionHalf-Life - Blew my mind when I played it. Final Fantasty Tactics - Different call of gameplay tons of stuff to do amazing level of customization.
- Xcom 1- Impossible Mission- Civilisation 1- know of Orion 1- the Halo series- Mechwarrior 2- Broderbund's Art of War (my first Real Time Tactical mid-80's)- Portal- Mech Commander 1- M1A1 Tank Platoon
There's some Golden Moldies in there but I'm trying to base my determination on the number of times each has been played through. come up mostly. (Portal being the major exception there.)
N64? Killer Instinct Gold (one of only two fighting games i ordain touch-Ludicrous Speed!) Ocarina of TimeMajora's Mask GoldeneyePerfect Dark Conker's Bad Fur Day (if i undergo to inform this one you haven't played it)Rogue SquadronMario Party (taught me the value of coffee but destroyed my controllers)Mario Kart (Yoshi FTW!) Super Mario 64
Looking approve over this list it seems almost entirely composed of first-party Ninty titles and Rare games.... I suppose form had already jumped ship at that inform. Hmmm an italian plumber an elf. 2 secret agents a collection of punchy hardheads and a giant singing poo that all seems in order :)
1. Half Life series but not the episode 1 or 2.2. KillZone Liberation.3. Anything Metroid. I e Prime 1. 2 and 3 fuzion super. 2 and finally adjust Mission.4. Armored Core Silent Line.5. Armored core out 2.6. Resident Evil Games.7. Counter Strike. (I know I know.)8. Ace contend The Belkan War.9. Red Steel.10. Super hit Brothers Melee and possibly altercate but I haven't played that yet.
1) Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!!2) System Shock 23) Homeworld 24) TF2 - I'm still amazed this beats TFC5) UO6) Vampire: Bloodlines7) Portal though it's so new it's hard to put it on the list8) Planescape: anguish9) Civ 210) Street Fighter Alpha III
Let's see... I'm not gonna put these in order.1. Half-Life 2. Yeah. I'm a fanboy so sue me. I like modding and Valve is a community company. The fact that they're not owned by anyone has more of an impact than you might think. For the preserve. I'm not really a Half-Life 1 fan at all.2. Resident Evil 4. At first I was put off by having such awkward controls and the fact that I couldn't move while shooting.. but fact is it wouldn't undergo worked without it. And while it didn't scare me much it was a long assay that I've liked playing through again.3. Garry's Mod. Yeah so it doesn't even really undergo an official Metacritic rating but copulate you. It costs $10 so it's "official" now and when you get into it there are literally over a million things you can do and COUNTING.4. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. I know I'm probably one of the only populate to like the latter POP games but evaluate of it this way: I accept that it managed to do the original acrobatics just as come up and added some new things into the mix. I sort of felt desire the stealth kills were fun especially since they didn't have the same element of randomness as so many other stealth games.5. Super hit Bros. Just the idea of different franchises fighting was great for fanboy contests but they managed to get down a very good fighting formula; no more memorization button-combos no more uncontrollable jumps. And the decision to alter the fighting cut 2D could not have worked exceed.6. aggroup Fortress 2. People are going to make jokes at online games anyway so why go for realism just so it can be trashed? Valve ran with the gratify idea and it worked.7. Metal Slug. If there's something I've learned it's that games can only be VERY fun when you're VERY good at them. The later generation has tried dumbing games down to bring home the bacon this cause but dodging 500 bullets in Metal hit while throwing grenades repeatedly is a feeling unlike any other.8. Oblivion. While after many months of playing. I go away to realize the low attention to dilate in.
